When I moved to Kentucky I thought I would never find Cuban food and I was surprised to learn of the growing Cuban community and of Sweet Havana! I felt like I was in Hialeah! The staff was so welcoming the place is very nice and the food is top notch!!!! They had all of the dishes I grew up eating and even more! The food and the pastries were fresh and so good! If you have not been...YOU MUST!! (By the way, THE ROPA VIEJA )
A truly authentic Cuban experience. Didn't know what to expect but I'm glad we sought the place out. Kind of behind a dealership and a shopping center so keep going until you find it. It's a bakery and a restaurant. Lots of pastry choices both sweet and savory and a wide selection of cakes. Staff was patient and helpful. Empanadas were great. Cuban sandwich was good (It didn't have the pork pulled meat like I'm used to, but the bread was super soft). Ask for light mayo on sandwiches or it will be heavy. Eggs were very flavorful and the Yuka frita were great.
This fun and upcoming Cuban restaurant has wonderful food and the nicest staff you'll meet. I highly recommend the medianoche or the Cuban Sandwiches as they are delicious. Go for the sandwiches and stay for the sweet cakes and kind people. The restaurant is nestled behind a car dealership but it is a gem of a find!

Just moved to South Central Kentucky from Connecticut and I love it here BUT I knew I was not going to have any more great Cuban restaurants BUT when I found out about the growing Cuban neighborhood in Louisville and especially SWEET HAVANA! I was shocked! So of course we went up and I was not disappointed! All I wanted was a Cuban sandwich and my wife ordered Ropa Vieja. My sandwich was sooooo good but her Ropa Vieja was hands down the best I have had in years! I have spent so much time In Hialeah and on Bergenline Ave NJ. Sweet Havana really knows there stuff! Then of course as I left I stacked up on pastries! JUST WOW!!!!! AMAZING! I regret not getting more! Can't wait to go back!
Today I visited for the first time. The staff is very friendly and warm. I love the atmosphere and the pastries and dishes are really delicious. Definitely slow down for a few and enjoy some Cuban coffee and a sweet treat or an empanada.
